    The Lab Automation Project Engineer is responsible for project deliverables for the implementation life cycle (pre-installation site planning, customer interfacing/change management, LIS connectivity, implementation support, and customer training). This role is key to the success of the Lab Automation strategy and is required to collaborate and support our customers with configuration and customization of their systems and to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation. This position is primarily responsible for supporting BD`s Lab Automation products, data management middleware and solutions offering towards global regions. The Lab Automation Application Specialist will collaborate with the Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and other members of the Clinical Solutions team to execute comprehensive project plans. The LAAS will also be responsible to provide customer training for the BD Kiestra Platform and BD Data Management Solution. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Contribute to the execution of the implementation process plan aligned with the planning agreements. Create and implement programs to insure effective ongoing support of client projects for lab automation products and services. Such as, implementing effective transfer of the project ownership to the customer at acceptance. Lead implementation of LIS connectivity and customization of the software to the customer`s existing and unique laboratory setting/system. Majority of hands-on time working with customers will be IT/applications focused, with change management focused on utilizing software and interfacing with their existing LIS system in a new way. Drive process to ensure a successful balance between quality and cost. Monitor the progress of the project in terms of time, quality, cost, information and organization. Execute the technical and organizational implementation programs for clients using various methods (LEAN, change management, etc.). Ensure achievement of performance and instrument up-time guarantees written into contracts based on initial assessment. Lead technical product training and provide on-site support for customers and sales specialists. Develop and maintain effective training materials for product platforms. Communicate learnings from customer interactions with Sales and Marketing team. Contribute the continuous improvement of UmbrellA program and maintain effective training materials as part of this.

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, conducts the purchase of all materials required for manufacturing (tools, machinery, supplies, etc.) as well as raw materials required in the San Agustin Plant. Contact with suppliers for quotation request, cost comparison, studies, and negotiation discounts, technical aspects and delivery terms, if the goods are not categorized. Prepare and follow up purchase orders. Forward updated specifications to the suppliers. Make the raw material purchases according to the SAP material requisitions, scheduling the supplies to minimize inventories without stopping production. Have close communication with the SNP Planners to be aware of planning changes and notice of any raw materials shortage to avoid production disruptions. Keep updated the SAP system with machinery, tools and raw materials supplier data. Organize and control the shipments of equipment and/or spare parts to be repaired and afterwards its returning to the Plant. Collaborate with Quality and Engineering Departments on the development of purchase specifications, related with quality and environmental matters. Participate in the supplier evaluations and audits.
